The energy (chi) in our bodies is so natural and so spontaneous, we almost never stop to think about it. It is like the constant rhythm of our lungs and the ceaseless circulation of our blood. Thousands upon thousands of chemical reactions are taking place at any one time and countless electrical impulses are passing through every part of our system. Not only that, but we are all part of the entire flow of energy around us. The intricate networks of energy in your body form part of the energy of the natural world. You are a miniature field of the electromagnetic energy of the universe!

Chi Kung (pronounced chee gung), or Qigong, is an ancient form of movement exercise, originating in China 4,000 years ago. Translated, this is ‘energy work’, with the exercises designed to encourage the flow of this vital energy ‘chi’ around the body, promoting a natural self healing process and inspiring true balance with harmonious health.

Chi Kung exercises, which involve gentle movements, are very meditative, creating stillness plus encouraging a calm body and a clear mind, with one of the immediate benefits being stress relief. Regular practice has a cumulative effect, helping to clear physical blockages and stagnant thought patterns, increase energy, heighten immunity and promote longevity. Our highly effective Active-Relax concept utilises elements of chi kung theory, forms and practical exercises.
